For vehicles of the BMW 5-Series E39 and X5, which were built before June 2000, there is often a breakdown on the heater blower. According to a technical bulletin from BMW in the year 2004 is the blower resistor reason for the failure. The problem makes itself felt by the driver, that the display indicates the air conditioning full power, but no leakage of air from the ventilation grilles. The problem can be resolved, that the terminating resistor is replaced near the air grid in the foot area.
